TOPColumnLondon Concert Announcement|March 29 at Bush Hall

On Sunday, March 29, I will perform live in London at Bush Hall.

This concert follows my work on the Disney series SHOGUN, for which I served as arranger of the Japanese traditional music.

A chance and deeply encouraging encounter with Ryuichi Sakamoto once led me to immerse myself in the profound world of gagaku.
This London performance takes place on the anniversary of his passing.

Gagaku emerged around 1,400 years ago as musical traditions traveled along the Silk Road to Japan and blended with indigenous songs. By the Heian period, it had reached a complete form—one that has remained largely unchanged for over 1,300 years.

It is music that does not move from one person to another, but exists between humans and nature.

In London, I will present works from TOKOYO, merging gagaku and classical instrumentation.

I look forward to sharing this sound, in this historic space, with you.
