We created this album in order to provide a soundtrack that can be easily enjoyed by those who are not familiar with Gagaku.

I hope you will enjoy this collection of intimate performances of gagaku by a small group of people.

It will be available online soon, and we will post more information when that happens.

Both parts were very enjoyable.

We are producing a performance movie by Taro Ishida and Oorutaichi's gagaku project "Domburako" + Yuuki Mashiko at our company.

We filmed and edited the dedication performance at Kinomata Valley (Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture) in early spring of 2021.

Japanese court music of "Gagaku" is a kind of traditional music and considered the oldest orchestra in the world.

Together with this "Gagaku", we "DOMBURAKO" have completed an album.

Taro Ishida composed the music for the exhibition "Indigenous Brazilian Chairs: Wildlife and Imagination" held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum in the summer of 2018.
After several presentations to the core members of the project, including Toyojiro Hida, director of the Teien Art Museum, Toyo Ito, architect, and Shinichi Nakazawa, cultural anthropologist, I arrived at the conclusion that the music should be a solo piece on the Gakubiwa, an instrument used in gagaku, the ancient Japanese court music.

On October 15, 2016, we held a Gagaku concert at the Iwata Ken Museum for Mothers and Children in Omishima, Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture.

In November 2021, we performed at Sawano-ike in Kyoto with the group "Domburaco" with real Gagaku players.

Japan is home to world-class traditional Japanese music, including gagaku, shakuhachi, shamisen, kokyu, and taiko.

They have a uniqueness that distinguishes them from music from any other part of the world, and the music spun out by first-rate performers is truly wonderful.

The music produced by first-rate performers is truly wonderful.
